There are also times that a tooth has to be removed so that other teeth have room in your mouth, or new teeth can come in. In these cases, tooth extraction improves the overall look of your mouth. Trauma in ExtractionsIn a simple extraction, the tooth can be wiggled out of place, and removed from the tooth socket using forceps. In simple extractions, there will be trauma to your mouth, but it should be limited to swollen gums, and irritation. There will be some pain and discomfort as well, which can be managed.
