CROWNS (OR "CAPS")
W
hen a tooth has been weakened by significant decay, a root canal or fracture, a crown ( "cap") may be necessary.
A crown restores a tooth to its original shape, size and strength. W. Todd Rogers Dental uses porcelain-fused-to-metal matched to the color of your adjacent teeth to provide a natural, 'just like your normal teeth' look and feel.
Crown are accomplished in two steps:
- At the first appointment, Dr. Rogers prepares the tooth and takes an impression that is sent to the dental laboratory. When you leave the office, you will have a temporary crown to protect the tooth.
- Approximately two weeks later, your new crown is cemented with a permanent material. With proper brushing and flossing, this beautiful new crown will last for many, many years.
